Well, have not a written a single word on biking this whole season. We did pretty well through mid-summer, in fact, I even had a demo street bike from Bill Hadsel's to get used to a different style bike. I loved the speed and the lower rolling resistance but had a tough time with the turned-down handle bars - quite a bit of neck pain after a 30 mile ride. I brought it back to have the stem changed to a more upright angle in late July and simply never went back for it. I have seen the Hammer out on Lucas Avenue, as recently as last Sunday (November 23rd), so at least someone is keeping the sport alive.
As I sit here on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, I am looking out my window at the first big snow event of the season here and it is quite impressive. It is 2:30 in the afternoon and there is about 5" on the ground and the heaviest snow are predicted for late this afternoon into the evening. I don't know what the technical definition of a blizzard is, but this one looks like what I imagine one looks like. I hate to be a pessimist but I think the season may be over...
In any event, being the opportunist that I am, and at the urging of no less than the Hammer himself, I am going to convert this blog space into a new venture which will be revealed in the next posting. Stay tuned fans!
